We have been introducing people of all ages to the joy of swimming for 40 years and have acquired a lot of experience teaching swimming to both children and adults. In addition, we carry everything that the modern swimmer needs in our specialty shop for swimming equipment located directly across from the Wiener Stadthallenbad.
We currently offer our swimming courses in five swimming pools in Vienna. You can find a brief overview of our course program here:
We teach swimming dwarfs from the age of two to three in cooperation with mum or dad and guide them to their first swimming movements. Together we explore the world of water and show the little ones the different ways to move around in the water and get to know their own limits.
The aim of the course is that if the children suddenly fall into the water, they will also find their way back to the safe shore.
Swimming is an important life skill! One cannot start swimming early enough, but group lessons are only practical for children starting at around 4 years of age. Our beginner swimming courses are aimed at children 4 or older who cannot keep afloat without the help of a swimming aid.
BEGINNER I – first immersion in the world of swimming

- Getting to know diving and balance exercises,
- moving in shallow water without a flotation device,
- to jump into the water with a flotation device.
Our beginner I swimming courses are aimed at children from 4 to approx. 6 years of age who do not yet dare to put their face in the water. The aim of the children’s swimming course is to take away the fear of diving and to teach the children the skills for locomotion with swimming aids in deep water. We motivate children in the course to dive, jump and experience the water with all their senses. We take the little ones by the hand so that they have the basics they need to become confident swimmers in the water.
BEGINNER II – first swimming strokes
Preconditions:
- completed 4 years of age
- Your child can already dive or dip their face into the water.
- Your child already likes to move in deep water with a swimming aid.
Suitable for: All children from 4 to approx. 8 years of age who submerge or dip their face into the water, but cannot yet swim in deep water without a flotation device.
The objectives of the course are:

Our beginner II swimming courses are aimed at children from 4 to approx. 8 years of age who like to dive and can move in the water with a swimming aid. The aim of the children’s swimming course is to learn the first real swimming strokes and to master short distances freely. We motivate children in the course to dive, jump and experience the water with all their senses. It is particularly important to offer children, especially at this age, as many movement experiences as possible in order to be able to build on them later in life. In our swimming courses for beginners II, we let children experience the element of water in a child-friendly, goal-oriented way and practice the first swimming movements of breaststroke, crawl and backstroke together.
The beginner swimming courses for children take place all year round in the Wiener Stadthallenbad, the Hallenbad Hütteldorf and the Hallenbad Döbling . In addition, we offer additional intensive swimming course dates during the holidays at the Federal Institute for the Blind and at the Vienna Stadthallenbad .
ANDEven though our course pools are well heated with a water temperature of 27-28 degrees, a few children get cold. For these children, we offer the possibility to borrow one of our stylish swimming school wetsuits for the entire duration of the course for a small rental fee. Thanks to the sleeveless construction and the highly flexible material, the children can participate in all exercises without restrictions despite the suit. Valid while stocks last!
In our swimming courses, children who can already swim at least a few meters freely but cannot yet swim longer than five minutes without taking a break are considered “slightly advanced”.
This swimming course builds upon the basics learned in the beginners’ swimming course in order to reinforce what the children have already learned and to help them develop more confidence in the water.
The goal is for the children to be able to swim freely and safely over longer distances. In the slightly advanced swimming courses we not only improve the breaststroke and backstroke swimming techniques of the participating children, but also introduce the children to the basics of the other swimming styles in order to lay the foundations for their further swimming development.
