We are testing the new open water wetsuits for 2021
The open water swimming season is just around the corner, and we’ve been testing the brand new wetsuits of 2021 for a few weeks now.
Open water swimming is in full swing
For several weeks now, the summer collection for 2021 has been hanging around in our specialist swimming shop Schwimmsport Steiner. We have massively expanded our range of wetsuits, buoys, goggles, fitness trackers, gloves, feet and ear plugs this year, Especially for open water swimmers.
We have extensively tested everything in stock in advance and are really impressed! Especially since we know what is important when swimming in open water and what our customers expect from a product!
Here you can see Peter Steiner testing a model of the new Orca Openwater RS1 Thermal wetsuit in advance. This wetsuit has a specially developed lining that maximizes heat storage when swimming in open water. In addition, the suit from Orca has a second neoprene layer called “bat wing”, which provides better thermal insulation around the zipper and neck.
During our Openwater test in the New Danube at 7.5°C water temperature, we were able to confirm the data provided by Orca was correct: The suit feels very elastic and pleasant, and the lining actually keeps one warmer than other wetsuits.
We also noticed significant improvements in the neck area: no cold water penetrates the wetsuit when swimming. This also ensures more efficient heat storage and increases the fun of open water swimming during the colder months.
We have already pre-ordered the Orca Openwater RS1 Thermal and many other open water suits and are expecting a big delivery soon. If you want to secure a certain wetsuit in advance, then contact us!
