TV report about our swim training on Puls 4
This week a TV crew from Puls 4 accompanied Swimming School Steiner to our first children’s swim training since corona at the Schönbrunn Swimming Pool. It was a very exciting day, even if the water was still quite cool.
Our swim training prepares children for swimming competitions
After attending and completing our regular children’s swimming courses, children have to opportunity to take part in our swim training. In this way, we are promoting young talent on their way to competitive swimming. Many of our current swimming teachers attended the Swimming School Steiner before signing up for competitive swimming. Afterwards they came back to share their experience with us as swimming instructors!
In our swim training, children learn all swimming strokes. Furthermore, the children learn proper swimming technique and get used to swimming with the goal of improving their times. In addition, regular dry-land training is also on the agenda. Using short games on land and appropriate body weight exercises, an athletic basis is developed which helps to improve performance in the water.
After training with us, the kids are ready to compete successfully in their first competitions. And, in close cooperation with the clubs of the Vienna State Swimming Association, there is the opportunity for a seamless transition from our children’s swim training to one the Viennese competitive swimming clubs.
You can get a glimpse of our swim training in the TV report by Puls 4 from June 1, 2020.

The children are happy to be back in the water after the break
Our first children’s swimming training after the Corona-related break was a great experience! The children were very happy to finally be able to go back into the water, even if the water only had 23 degrees due to the weather. Thanks to our wetsuits, which we are providing free of charge for the 40th anniversary of the Steiner Swimming School, the cold was not so bad in the end.
The TV crew of Puls 4 – Puls 24 News had at least as much fun as we did! This can certainly be seen from the pictures. We would also like to thank moderator Fabian Kissler for the tongue-in-cheek presentation and chief reporter Magdalene Punz for doing such a great job.
